Restoration Services

Do you have vintage cast iron cookware that needs restoration, or maybe family heirlooms that have been passed down to you?

I can restore them as close to the original condition as possible, even if they are rusted. Each piece I restore is cleaned down to the original bare cast iron. I use a combination of a lye bath and electrolysis to safely clean them. No sanding or power tools are ever used. The piece is then seasoned a minimum of 3 times at 500 degrees for an hour with my seasoning discs that contain grapeseed oil, avocado oil and beeswax. The result of my restoration process is a very clean and well seasoned piece that has a nearly non-stick surface.

Turn around time varies depending on the condition of the piece. Usually anywhere from 7-20 days.

All cleaning is performed in the safest way possible to not damage the cast iron. I use a lye bath to remove all the carbon buildup, and electrolysis to remove stubborn seasoning and rust.

I DO NOT use power tools of any kind as this damages the surface of the cast iron. I DO NOT use any self cleaning ovens or fire to clean pieces as this will alter the molecular structure of the metal making it difficult if not impossible to season

Seasoning includes 3 rounds of my seasoning discs at 500 degrees for 1 hour each cycle.
